Come grow with us!Position Summary:The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks including performing audits of facilities and processes for compliance. This position will work in a food and feed manufacturing plant and warehouse.Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Monitoring sanitation and scale verification logs
  • Perform packaging quality checks and ensure they meet specification.
  • Sampling of incoming raw materials
  • Must ensure that retained raw material samples are organized and stored properly.
  • Perform Environmental monitoring, including sample prep and plating, log results.
  • Perform Pre-operational inspection of equipment prior to production
  • Assist with monitoring GMP compliance by walking the floor
  • Verify the metal detector in the Food Processing Room per schedule
  • Enter and manage information into an Excel spreadsheet and internal data management system.
  • Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • MS Word and Excel experience
Education, Training, Experience
  • 0-2 years in QA in food or feed manufacturing or food preparation service
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical certification, Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Bacteriology, Microbiology, or Food Science, preferred
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Majority of work is conducted in a laboratory environment and may include occasional exposure to cold temperatures
  • Work includes lifting (up to 30 lbs.) and frequent use of hands for handling objects, tools, and controls
  • May be exposed to airborne particles and chemicals used in fermentation production facilities
Safety Requirements:
  • Mandated use of company-issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Adherence to all company safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
